Yusuf Islam, aka Cat Stevens, said at the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Awards, "The erasion, or eradication, of poverty, definitely..........is the way to peace".

This is a core tenet in all beliefs. It shows love for one's fellow-man, a teaching that is in all Sacred Scriptures, the Qur'an; the Bible; and the Vedas, et al.

But greed, one of the worst flaws in man, make this a hard mission to accomplish. There are many who are striving to achieve this, but they are pushing against a very strong headwind. May peace be upon each and every one of them. As Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers"

Acting against the problems that bring about violence and violent revolution is the answer...but the question is WHO would be the leader?

America holds plenty of power, respect(?), and influence, but it isn't using it to lead toward a brighter tomorrow. We don't really want America dishing out justice, do we?

Who can lead, Yasser?

Good to see you posting again. Congrats on the new job.

Good post, Yasser. It's a shame that it is something a lot of people have to be reminded of. Thinking....Contemplating....Praying. It is a two-way street. It's not all proactive, sometimes you also have to be still, and listen for that inner-voice....the voice of Allah. Good to see you back, my friend. How's the Engineering thing going?

I came upon your website by coincidence, and liked how varied the topics are. In the blogs I've seen so far, usually they tend to lean on one side rather than another (eg. tech vs lit, or politics.)

The quotes you chose are thought provoking. I know some of 'em will keep me thinking for a few days to come.
